Frequently Asked Questions
-
When should I arrive?
We recommend arriving 15–30 minutes before your scheduled departure time. This gives plenty of time to get settled, meet Captain Nick, and go over a quick safety chat before heading out.
-
What should I bring?
A jacket or extra layer — it’s always a little cooler on the water.
Sunscreen and a hat — even on cloudy days.
Comfortable, non-slip shoes.
Snacks and drinks — BYO is always welcome, especially on longer trips.
A camera or phone for photos — you’ll want to remember this one.
Captain Nick will provide all the fishing gear and life jackets.
-
What if I get seasick?
Our trips are typically on calm, coastal waters and the boat is very stable, but if you’re prone to motion sickness, we recommend taking preventative medication before boarding. It’s always better to be prepared — Captain Nick will do his best to keep you comfortable.
-
Will I catch a Fish?
Captain Nick has been fishing these waters for over 20 years — you’ll have a great shot!
Deep Sea Fishing trips regularly bring in mackerel and cod, and Tuna Charters offer the chance to battle a fish of a lifetime (catch-and-release).
Of course, fishing isn’t guaranteed — that’s why they call it fishing, not catching! But you’ll always get a great time on the water. -
What should I expect on each trip?
Deep Sea Fishing: Hands-on fishing for mackerel and cod just off Grand Tracadie. Family-friendly and action-packed.
Tuna Charters: Full-on big game adventure targeting Bluefin tuna. Fast, thrilling, and always catch-and-release.
Tracadie Bay Tours: Calm cruising with local stories, wildlife sightings, and lots of island history. Great for families and first-timers.
Private Coastal Cruises: Fully customizable — you set the pace, sights, and stops. Popular for sunset trips, beach drop-offs, and relaxed exploring.

Where are you located?
We launch from Grand Tracadie (Tracadie Harbour), just steps from PEI National Park’s north shore entrance and close to Blackbush Resort, where the new Hotel Acadia now stands. Many guests enjoy pairing their stay at Blackbush with a custom cruise or fishing trip.
